Disturbing new reports have revealed that ISIS killed as many as 250 women in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul for refusing to become sex slaves.
According to Weasel Zippers, the women were ordered to accept “temporary marriages” to militants, and were put to death when they refused. Said Mamuzini, an official from the Kurdistan Democratic Party, told the press that some of the women’s families were also executed for refusing.
Ghayas Surchi, another official from the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, said that women in Mosul are not allowed to go out in public and must be completely covered when they are out. Women are also banned from choosing their spouses in the city.
Mosul has been ruled by ISIS since June of 2014.
