Even though Donald Trump is now the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, the GOP establishment is still trying to take him down. Now, they have reportedly launched a desperate, last-ditch effort to force Trump out of the race.
According to Politico, there is a 50/50 shot that one of the following three Republicans will enter the race in the hopes of beating Trump. The Political Insider reported that a well-known conservative disclosed that the three potential candidates are Sen. Ben Sasse, age 44, of Nebraska; Sen. Tom Coburn, 68, of Wyoming; and Mitt Romney, 69.
The conservative told reporters that there is a “a 50-50 chance that one of the three will do it.”
It’s sad that the GOP is still trying to take Trump down after all this time. It’s time to put all of this nonsense behind us and start focus on what’s really important, which is beating Hillary Clinton. If we don’t, Clinton will undoubtedly end up in the White House at the end of the year.
