There is nothing Michelle Obama is more proud of from her time as first lady than her Hunger-Free Kids Act, which has inflicted stringent rules that require public school districts to purchase whole grains while severely limiting the amount of sugar, fat and sodium in meals.
That’s why it came as devastating news for Michelle when the U.S. Senate Agriculture Committee released bipartisan legislation on Monday that would revise meal standards that had been implemented in schools all over the country. According to Conservative Tribune, the legislation will give schools more flexibility in meal choices by easing stringent rules that require public school districts to purchase whole grains while severely limiting the amount of sugar, fat and sodium in meals.
The problem with Michelle’s lunch plan is that children are refusing to eat the food, and instead throwing the meals in the trash, wasting millions of tax dollars. Many schools have been so desperate to get out of the plane that they have forgone federal funding so they could opt out.
We can’t blame the kids for throwing the meals away…Would you want to eat this stuff?

If this legislation is passed, the Agriculture Department will be required to create new whole grain and sodium standards within 90 days. The bill is supported by the School Nutrition Association, which represents about 55,000 school food service employees across the country.
We’re glad to see Michelle Obama is finally getting what’s coming to her. SHARE this story if you can’t STAND Michelle Obama!
