Country music star Craig Morgan is calling for prayers today after his 19 year-old son Jerry Greer went missing Sunday afternoon following a boating accident.
According to Daily Mail, Greer was tubing with a friend on the Tennessee River when the two collided around 4pm and fell in the water. Though both of the boys were wearing life jackets, Jerry never resurfaced, leading authorities to fear the worst.
WSMV reported that police have been scouring 10-acre area in the river, which is as much as 15 feet deep in some places, since 6am Monday morning.
“It is a big area that we’re looking at so we’re going to try and review the statements that we have from our eyewitnesses and narrow that down today,” said Matt Majors, boating accident investigator with TWRA.
Greer’s family released a brief statement on Monday.
“The family is grateful for everyone’s support and prayers and request privacy during this difficult time,” they said.
Greer is one of Morgan’s four children with his wife of 25 years, Karen Greer.
Morgan is a 17-year Army veteran who has been a country music singer since 2000. He is best known for his songs “Tough” and “Almost Home.”
Please pray for this family during this extremely difficult time.
