Country music legend Dolly Parton has never been shy about sharing her opinions, even if it gets her into trouble. That’s why it came as no surprise to her fans when she broke her silence about the transgender bathroom debate this week.
During a recent interview with CNNMoney, the 70 year-old “Queen of Country Music” was asked to comment on North Carolina’s law concerning transgender restrooms.
“I think everybody should be treated with respect,” she responded, according to Western Journalism. “I don’t judge people. I try not to get too caught up in all the controversy of things. I hope that everybody gets a chance to be who and what they are. I just know if I have to pee I’m gonna pee. I don’t care where it’s gonna be.”
She then assured her North Carolina fans that unlike other entertainers, she will still be performing for them. Many other singers like Bruce Springsteen, Demi Lovato, Nick Jonas and Pearl Jam have cancelled all their North Carolina performances to protest the law.
Liberals are furious that Dolly is continuing to perform in North Carolina, but we love her for it. SHARE if you stand by Dolly Parton!
