Ever since Donald Trump became the presumptive GOP nominee last week, he has been backtracking on a number of conservative stances. Now, he has made a statement about tax policy that has many Republicans going into panic mode.
He’s already spoken of a willingness to change the party’s stance on abortion.
And now he’s making controversial comments on GOP tax policy:
Here’s the full quote:
“On my plan they’re going down. But by the time it’s negotiated, they’ll go up,” Trump said on ABC’s “This Week.”
“We’re going to submit the optimum,” he said of his tax proposal. “That’s what I’d like to get and we’ll fight for it. But from a practical standpoint, it’s going to get renegotiated. And in my opinion, the taxes for the rich will go up somewhat.”
Trump saying he is willing to raise taxes is sure to draw the ire of many people, establishment or otherwise!
He also said this about how he views the ideological stances of the party.
