LEAKED: Obama Has Been Doing This for YEARS… and Hiding It
Our national debt is now at $19 trillion dollars; that means that each taxpaying American owes over $160,000 to the federal government.
And while many Americans are aware of this staggering number, many don’t realize exactly where all our money is going. Conservative journalist Kristin Tate’s new book, Government Gone Wild, shines a light on some of the most infuriating and outrages things that our hard-earned tax dollars are going towards. Some of the expenditures are downright infuriating and others are hilarious.
Exorbitant spending goes all the way down to the basic practices of large government agencies, and few departments are exempt from this. In fact, one of the worst offenders when it comes to wasting our tax dollars is the IRS.
Yup, the same agency that shoves its hands deep into our pockets every April is turning around and spending our cash on things you wouldn’t believe. During recent years, the IRS spent $4 million on office furniture (OMG spinny chairs!), $8,000 on a “fitness equipment stair climber,” and thousands more on trinkets like stuffed animals and rubber Thomas the Tank Engine wristbands. Yes, really.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) is just as bad, and managed to spend $500,000 on food and beverages at only TEN conferences. $50,000 per conference for food and drinks; that’s just plain wasteful. At one conference, they bought muffins at $16 a piece. You’ve been to Dunkin’ Donuts or Starbucks — ever see a muffin that costs $16? Exactly.
This kind of spending is the norm in government agencies, and has been at its highest levels ever under President Obama.
But the worst part about this? While our politicians tell us that we’re not “paying our fair share,” they turn around and live like king and queens on our dime. Every year, us taxpayers spend about $19 million just for politicians’ vacations. Meanwhile, Obama (while flying around on his private jet) recently demanded a 17% hike in his post presidency salary, which includes pay for vacations and other luxuries.
Milton Friedman once said, “Very few people spend other people’s money as carefully as they spend their own.” This could not be more true, especially in today’s political landscape.
If everything above pisses you off… Then FEAR NOT! There ARE solutions to be had! Tate’s new book Government Gone Wild is a bold, brash ride through the carnival of absurdities that our broken system has become. The book is a wake up call, but it also provides readers with concrete solutions — easy things that we can all do RIGHT NOW to get our country back on track!
