Yesterday, we reported that Obama was planning to put Harriet Tubman on the $20 and a series of civil rights activists on the $5. Now, it has been revealed that the $10 bill will be changed as well.
Alexander Hamilton’s position on the $10 bill was saved thanks to the success of the Broadway show Hamilton. However, the LA Times has reported that the picture of the Treasury building on the back of the bill will be replaced by members of the Suffragette movement like Sojourner Truth, Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Alice Paul and Lucretia Mott.
This came one day after it was revealed that the back of the $5 bill would be replaced by images of opera singer Marian Anderson, First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt and civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. It was also announced that Andrew Jackson would be taken off the $20 bill entirely and replaced with Harriet Tubman.
Welcome to Obama’s America, folks!
