Last week, former GOP presidential candidate Ben Carson shocked everyone when he endorsed Donald Trump in the race, saying, “With our support, I am sure that we can help restore America’s values and faith.” The next day, he suggested that he would like to serve as Trump’s running made, and that he has discussed the idea with the business mogul himself.
Now, an insider with Carson’s team has revealed that they are taking steps to position Carson as the Republican vice presidential nominee, and that the neurosurgeon thinks he stands a good chance of becoming Trump’s running mate.
According to Mother Jones, Carson met privately with Trump before announcing his endorsement, and the pair discussed what role he would play in his White House administration.
Trump Trump “will surround himself with very good people,” Carson told NewsMax. When asked if he would be one of these people, Carson responded, “I will be doing things as well…certainly in an advisory capacity.”
A Carson insider has revealed that Carson left this meeting with Trump feeling extremely confident that he will be his Vice President.
“He needs me more than I need him,” Carson bragged to his top staff, according to the source, who added that the neurosurgeon will soon begin pushing Trump to officially make him his running mate.
