Just one day after he became the presumptive nominee when Ted Cruz dropped out of the race, Donald Trump is already building a campaign team by gathering a team of advisers and beginning to review potential vice presidential running mates.
Trump reportedly told the New York Times that former GOP candidate Dr. Ben Carson would serve on a selection committee to find his running mate. According to Allen B. West, Trump revealed plans to name his running mate in July and announce a committee to handle the selection process very soon.
“I think on the committee I’ll have Dr. Ben Carson and some other folks,” Trump said.
This appears to confirm that though Carson will not be Trump’s Vice President, as many media outlets previously speculated, he will play a key role in building his administration.
